Shiai - November 2012
Hi everyone,
I just want to tell all of you how proud I am of all the students. Our Shiai was great yesterday, every student worked hard and looked so sharp. Great job to all of you!
Special thanks to all the Blackbelts and Jr Blackbelts for working with the students and making sure that everything went smoothly and that they were ready for the Shiai.
As most of you know yesterday was even more of a special day. We now have two more Blackbelts in the dojo, that is always a special day for me and the dojo when our Blackbelt line gets longer.
I know that Ms Kelly and Mr Horvath will make excellent Blackbelts. Also Ms Gray and Mr Scimeca will be excellent Yon Dan's, as they have always worked hard and I know will continue to grow in their new ranks.
The dojo will be open tomorrow night Tuesday, November 20th, please try to make it to class and break those new Obie's in. We will be closed from Wednesday until next Tuesday. I want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving , we all have a lot to be thankful for. I am thankful for all of my students and families for your continued support of the dojo and our teachings.

Since 1991...
Cape Coral Isshinryu Karate Academy first opened its doors to students way back in 1991. Since then we have seen many children and adults come and go and we have made many friends. Today I am proud to say that some of my current black-belt instructors, who you will meet below, first came to me as eager and inexperienced children with the will to succeed and reach their karate goals. With commitment, patience and perseverance not only did they become black-belts in the art but they have continued to study with me and have gained their second, third and fourth degree qualifications.
Testimonials
We have been part of this Dojo Family for over ten years. It seems like it was yesterday, when we first enrolled our son as a white belt and our daughter thereafter. Many memories we have, a lot of sweat, bruises, hard work and trophies, but most of all the satisfaction to see our son and daughter excel outside the dojo. Karate has given us a lot, like the warm feeling of a big family with the objective of teaching the kids the art of karate. They both have gained a lot from their training with Sensei Jim Kelly and with no doubt the leadership, confidence and self discipline obtained will always be the best tools for their futures
